Mensa NZ is holding a special IQ testing session at the police college on Saturday for people who’ve always known they were bright and now want to prove it.

The testing session begins at 1.30pm and is part of Mensa NZ’S annual conference.

‘‘Mensa NZ is an international community of like-minded people that aims to provide a stimulating, intellectual and social environ- ment for its 100,000 members worldwide,’’ says its New Zealand chairwoman Lindsay Helson.

To become a member of Mensa you must first pass an approved IQ test by scoring in the top 2 per cent of the population.

Participants must bring photo ID and the test costs $45. If successful at meeting the Mensa standard, this cost becomes the first annual subscription to Mensa.
