Plim­mer­ton Cro­quet Club held its Cro­quet? Ole! golf cro­quet tour­na­ment re­cently.

The an­nual con­test caters for 32 play­ers from through­out the re­gion.

Six rounds of dou­bles are played with ev­ery player hav­ing a new part­ner for each of their six games.

Dur­ing the course of the day this mix­ing process en­sures com­pet­i­tive in­ter­ac­tion with at least 15 other play­ers.

The so­cial for­mat has proved very pop­u­lar and the tour­na­ment has been fully sub­scribed ev­ery year, said club pub­lic­ity of­fi­cer Ali­son Lloyd Davies.

Morn­ing re­sults were: Win­ner – Dave Hunt (Plim­mer­ton); Sec­ond equal – Barry Townsend- Greene (Kel­burn) and Ali­son Thorn ( Khan­dal­lah). Best 3- 8 hand­i­cap – Mina Hard­grave ( Wainuiomata). Best 9+ hand­i­cap – John Ti­ley (Khan­dal­lah).

Af­ter­noon re­sults: Win­ner – Robin Ch­ester­field (Plim­mer­ton); Sec­ond equal – Caro­line Townsend-greene, Mau­reen Reed (Kel­burn) and Grace Richards ( Wainuiomata); Best 3-8 hand­i­cap – June Brown (Kel­burn); Best 9+ hand­i­cap – Lyn Ge­maries (Plim­mer­ton).
