The North Wellington Indoor Bowls Association is tomorrow holding an opening gala night for its 2012 season at its hall on Onepoto Park.

Newcomers to the sport, or to the district, are welcome, as are those who may have given the game away but are keen to rekindle their interest.

Representatives from the Association’s 11 clubs, spread between Newlands and Whitby, will be on hand to answer any questions and show visitors how to play. They also help you find a nearby club and advise what night they play.

Indoor Bowls is a relatively cheap sport to play. Typically, a club charges about $90 for its six month season. If being out at night is not for you then several clubs offer day-time indoor bowls.

The function starts at 7.15pm. Wear flat/smooth soled shoes and bring some gold coin raffle money. If you have any inquiries, ring Gwen on 478 1551.
