Drug ring busted open
More than 30 Police staff across the Wellington district disrupted a methamphetamine supply ring last week with 16 arrests and more to come.
Police from the Wellington Drug Squad, Armed Offenders Squad, the Clan Lab team, CIB and frontline staff executed about a dozen search warrants in Porirua, Wellington and the Hutt Valley as part of Operation Marian.
Wellington District Organised Crime manager Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said seven females and nine males aged between 27 and 60 years were arrested and charged.
It is believed the operation supplied hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine across the region.
