‘‘ No parking’’ lines have been proposed for one side of Albatross Close in Whitby which is often reduced to a single lane when major sports events are held at nearby Endeavour Park.

When the Endeavour car park is full the suburban street is often clogged with vehicles on both sides, making difficulties for through- traffic. People living at 1 to 35 Albatross Close are being consulted on which side of the road they would prefer to have yellow lines, said northern ward councillor Anita Baker.

She said Endeavour Park users can also park on Samwell Drive, a much wider street than Albatross and just as close to the park.
