I beg Anita Baker and all those re­spon­si­ble for the de­vel­op­ment of this park to take great care in who gets awarded the con­tract to de­sign and build this park. You are toy­ing with the de­vel­op­ment and skills of a very pas­sion­ate and fo­cused group of your com­mu­nity. There are very few con­trac­tors who pos­sess the skills to pro­duce qual­ity and rel­e­vant skate park designs in New Zealand and you should by mind­ful of this when you ap­point­ing con­tracts.’’ Steve: ‘‘Firstly, as far as I can tell, there are no good stair sets at all in this park, which is a thor­ough dis­ap­point­ment, as I find that the stairs are re­ally one of the best things to skate.
