WORTH A MENTION

The Box: The Closer, 11pm Tuesday, TV1. Best police procedural show on telly. Kyra Sedgwick is amazing as the southern belle who heads the LAPD Major Crimes squad.

Movie: 12 Angry Men (1957). Tense, talky and it is set almost entirely in a jury room as they decide the fate of a defendant in a murder trial.

Tune: The Rubberbandits – Horse Outside. Irish chavs rapping about why a horse is better than a Honda Civic or a Mitsi. Hilarious but it is for R18 ears. Check it out on Youtube.

Interweb: clubweekly. co.nz. All you need to know about the Wellington club rugby scene.

Grub: Cheese rolls. Perfect with the colder days. My wife is a Southlander, so she knows what she’s doing. Just Google ‘‘cheese rolls’’ and there’s plenty of recipes around, but make sure you use onion soup mix and Tasty cheese.
