He gets out, does the work and makes a difference, said one panellist.

Very

Very ‘‘If council are cutting numbers for the next election, he needs to go,’’ said one panelist.

Mr Rangi said while he has moved to the Hutt Valley, and did not have the profile of some of his eastern ward colleagues, he was not neglecting his council duties.

‘‘I try to get out as much as possible, my attendance is high (for meetings) and although I’m in the Hutt now, it does not affect what I do in Porirua.’’

Mr Rangi said it was unlikely he would stand again in 2013, while Mr Seiuli said he would reassess closer to the election.

Mr Leggett said he was ‘‘blown away’’ by the high scores he received – perfect marks in all but one category.

‘‘ It’s about keeping up the momentum now, continuing to make decisions that have longterm impacts (in Porirua). I think the best measure of a councillor is how proactive they are and how they vote (in meetings). Do they back up what they say?’’

On the scores of Mr Seiuli and Mr Rangi, the mayor said ‘‘they bring a perspective to this council and I value their contribution’’.
