Porirua Little Theatre is frantically busy rehearsing for its biggest show of the year, The Producers.

With award- winning designer Anna Lowe’s set on track, director Dave Bramwell-cooke, wife Nicki, the choreographer, and musical director Jean Hollier are preparing to revel in Broadway’s worst.

The story revolves around Max Bialystock, a down-on-his-luck producer. After putting together another Broadway flop, Max teams up with timid accountant Leo Bloom in a get-rich-quick scheme to put on the world’s worst show.

The Producers features tapdancing little old ladies, huge production numbers and the irreverent Mel Brooks-scripted humour.

It runs at Porirua Little Theatre from June 7 to 30. Tickets are $30/$24. Visit iticket.co.nz or phone 0508 484 2338.

Bad company: The cast prepares for the hilarity and absurdity of show-withina-show Broadway musical The Producers.
