Three Porirua health clinics have been acknowledged for reaching high standards of care for the third year running, an achievement marked by a ceremony and presentation of certificates at Ora Toa Medical Centre on July 3. Ora Toa clinics in Mungavin, Takapuwahia and Cannons Creek were awarded Cornerstone accreditation certificates by Jane O’Hallahan, the acting chief executive for the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. Cornerstone accreditation is given to clinics with high levels of efficiency, staff training, staff teamwork, and respectful patient care. ‘‘It shows a real commitment to quality, to caring for your community, which we acknowledge has complex needs,’’ Ms O’Hallahan said.
