TBRA wants village plan to go ahead

An article in our June 26 edition on Titahi Bay Village plan progress did not accurately report the position of the Titahi Bay Residents’ Association.

We reported that the TBRA wanted to halt progress on the village plan until the suburb’s beach management plan was finalised. This was not so.

TBRA chairman Graeme Ebbett says it was advocating for the immediate implementation of the village plan, with enforcement of the rules for vehicles on the beach being its highest priority.

He says the TBRA opposed Porirua City Council’s recommendation to ‘‘review and update’’ the plan because this was not the ‘‘bottom up’’ approach to village planning the council had won national and international awards for.
