Losses for two teams

Tawa and Western Sub­urbs both suf­fered losses in the lat­est round of Cen­tral League football at the week­end.

On Satur­day, Tawa were thrashed 6- 1 by high- fly­ing Napier City Rovers at Red­wood, with Daniel Wood on the score­sheet for the home side.

The re­sult keeps Tawa sec­ond-last on nine points from 13 games, five points ahead of Maycen­vale, who have played a game less.

On Sun­day, Wests went down 2- 1 to ri­vals Miramar Rangers at David Far­ring­ton Park.

Billy Scott net­ted for Wests af­ter both teams went into the break at 0-0.

This Satur­day, Wests are host­ing sixth-placed Pe­tone, while the job does not get any eas­ier for Tawa – they are away to league lead­ers Wairarapa United.
