Film school purchase
Whitireia New Zealand has purchased The New Zealand Film and Television School in Wellington City. The school will complement programmes in the area of arts and provide an important strategic addition to the Whitireia arts hub with its Performance Centre and Media Training Centre, said chief executive Don Campbell. The Film and Television School location, brand and campus at 86 Vivian St in Wellington City will be retained. Also being kept is the one-year certificate in film and television production programme. ‘‘The purchase will provide the school with increased support and access to resources,’’ said the school’s trust board chairwoman, Jane Kominik. The Film School will continue to operate as it does currently with the same course content and philosophy.
