Bus not at fault
A school bus crash at Aotea College that left 11 students injured was likely caused by driver error but alcohol was not a factor, Mana Coach Services chief executive Geoff Norman said.
The bus crashed into a lamp post, a moving van and the school’s sign.
Students suffered injuries ranging from serious bruising to whiplash and chipped teeth.
The driver’s employment will be discussed when he returns to work in a few weeks, Mr Norman said. Police are not involved.
The driver broke his thumb in the crash.
