First lamb arrives
Spring has come early on at least one Pauatahanui property, with the first lamb of the season born recently.
Anne Hodson, who lives on Murphy’s Rd, says the female lamb was spotted on July 22. The lamb’s mum is hand- reared and very friendly and both are doing fine, Ms Hodson said.
‘‘I think the sheep have got a bit mucked up with their timing but that may be down to the very mild winter. Some people hold the rams back a bit but we don’t, we have a good paddock for them.’’
