Plunket building work under way
The first sod was turned on the new Plunket centre in Cannons Creek last Tuesday.
Despite persistent rain, Haidee Hemsley, chairperson of the $800,000 project’s steering committee, did the honours.
The 300sqm facility, due to be opened by November, will bring together Plunket nurses with car seat hire and B4 School checks, as well as providing a building for parent courses and community meetings.
Any business or organisation wishing to help Plunket as they fundraise to pay for the new centre should call project manager Richard UerataJennings on 0275 632 104 or email@example.com
Sod turning: Ana KiniKini (Plunket nurse), Tina Syme (Plunket area manager), Liz Kelly (Porirua deputy mayor), Bridget Robertson (Plunket clinical leader, Ann Garside (Plunket nurse) and Lorraine Dias (Plunket nurse) at the ceremony last week.
