Kiwi president visits
Zonta International president Lynn McKenzie was guest speaker at Zonta Club of Mana’s monthly meeting at Plimmerton Boating Club recently.
Installed at Zonta International’s biennial conference in July, Ms McKenzie – a Wellingtonian – was the first New Zealander to achieve this office.
“I feel so honoured to be given this opportunity,” she said.
Zonta is an international service organisation for women advocating for their wellbeing. Zontians volunteer their time and talents to support service projects and scholarship programmes.
With more than 31,000 members in 63 countries, New Zealand has 27 clubs with over 800 members. The Mana cub was established in 1979 and endorses scholarships at a local, national and international level, as well as supporting House of Grace, He Huarahi Tamariki, Women’s Refuge and Arohata women.
