No submissions

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION - JOHN WATSON, Titahi Bay

The Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Bill has passed first reading status at Parliament and so far it’s not even before a committee of the House. No submissions have been called for as yet.

That being the case, why did the Porirua City Council assume the unilateral right to decide on the effect of the amendment bill by a notice of motion on August 30 without first consulting the community, especially as it was a non-party conscience vote in Parliament?
