Invalid concept

Editor,

In relation to the front page article (KMN, September 4), council backs gay marriage.

Shame on Porirua City Council for ignoring the voice of its citizens, church ministers, and unilaterally supporting homosexual marriage.

Homosexual marriage is not even a valid concept.

Marriage can only ever be fully experienced by a man and a woman that become ‘‘one’’, which is an impossibility for homosexuals.

I’m particularly annoyed with ’Ana Coffey who doesn’t understand the Bible she reads. Jesus showed grace to those caught in sin by not instantly dishing out the punishment they deserved, but he unashamedly told them to repent from their immoral ways (as in the case of the prostitute).

What does she think he died and rose again for? To conquer sin, and to give every one of us the power to conquer it too.

Homosexuals need help with their temptations. By burying your head in the sand and thinking ‘‘it doesn’t affect me’’, ‘‘each to their own’’, only traps the homosexual in a deceived lifestyle that they struggle to get out of.

Read some personal testimonies of ex-homosexuals to get some real perspective.
