Boring name

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION - KATHY PEERS, Tawa (Abridged)

Regarding the new name being sought for the Tawa shared pathway. Why has it been made so boring?

I would have thought it was to get people away from roads, especially Duncan St where college kids race their cars.

They had all the trees already there to meander a track through. Why didn’t they? They have just extended the footpaths at a large cost.

Take a look at Pauatahanui; no concrete paths, all forest floors to bird watch. It’s low cost, all natural along the stream, as in Otaihanga. We could have had this – why not?

I have walked and cycled every path in New Zealand. I can honestly say this is the most boring. I take it the people who made it do not walk anywhere.
