Pare­mata Probus Club’s Grey War­blers choir en­ter­tained mem­bers of the Whitby Women’s In­sti­tute at its re­cent fundrais­ing event for Kid­ney Kids NZ Inc.

The Grey War­blers gather un­der the di­rec­tion of choir mis­tress Hazel Dry­burgh – well­known for her mu­si­cal con­nec­tions and en­abling oth­ers to share the en­joy­ment of singing to­gether.

Mem­bers of the choir chose the songs from African-Amer­i­can spir­i­tu­als, Broad­way mu­si­cals and other favourites.

Af­ter the singing, raf­fles were drawn and ev­ery­one en­joyed af­ter­noon tea with an ar­ray of taste temp­ta­tions pro­vided by the com­mit­tee.

Whitby Women’s In­sti­tute raised $ 300 from the event.

Throughout New Zealand, the in­sti­tute is fo­cus­ing on Kid­ney Kids as its ma­jor project to sup­port dur­ing 2012.
