Dads got a special invitation to Paremata Playcentre to coincide with Father’s Day.

Paremata Playcentre opened its doors to dads so they could enjoy a Playcentre session, which many had not had a chance to experience.

Team leader Cheryl Lovett says, with a lot of fathers busy at work, they don’t get to see what a rich environment Playcentre is.

Fathers took the day off work or popped in during the morning to help with the construction of forts, sandcastles and train tracks, along with feet painting, Play-Doh cupcakes, stories and dress-ups.

Dad Bernard Beckett impressed with what he saw.

“From a father’s point of view it was just marvellous seeing the world

was that has been created for my boys.’’
