Rotarians digging in
Rotary Club of Tawa member and Tawa Salvation Army leader Keith Wray roped in a few youth group members from his church to help Rotary complete its annual planting programme.
He put them to work recently at Tawa Lookout, off Kilkelly Close. The Lookout was established by Tawa Rotary in 2005 to mark the centenary of Rotary International.
“It was great to be able to get some of our youth and leadership team out into the community,” said Mr Wray.
Project leader Richard Herbert said during the past six years Rotarians have planted more than 2000 trees supplied by the Wellington City Council nursery.
Willing helpers: Tawa Rotary completes its 2012 planting programme at the Tawa Lookout site with assistance from Tawa Salvation Army youth team members.
