Day to rekindle your passion for sailing
Are you a sailor? Do you have a yacht sitting unused in the garage or backyard? When did you last go sailing?
If your answers are ‘‘yes’’, ‘‘yes’’, and ‘‘not for a long time’’, then your opportunity has arrived.
In an effort to get local sailors back on the water and re-kindle that passion for sailing, Paremata Boating Club is having a Bring your Boat Day this Sunday morning. All local sailors are invited to bring their boats down to the club and enjoy a leisurely sail out on Pauatahanui Inlet.
For those a bit rusty, there will be club members available to help with rigging and launching and there will be support boats on the water to assist should anyone take an an unexpected ‘swim’ or need towing back to shore.
Following the sailing, the bar will be open and the barbecue fired up at the clubrooms.
Anyone who is interested should meet on the beach by the boat sheds at Dolly Varden Reserve, on the northern side of the Paremata bridge at 8.30am.
Bargain sail: Mateship, support and sweet grub – there’s no excuses for not getting along to Paremata Boating Club’s upcoming Bring your Boat Day.
