Milk pur­chase wins $10,000

Hamp­ton Hill School has won a $10,000 prize in a Meadow Fresh pro­mo­tion af­ter Tawa res­i­dent Tracey Bar­clay’s name was drawn from thou­sands of en­tries in the na­tion­wide com­pe­ti­tion.

Ms Bar­clay had nom­i­nated Hamp­ton Hill School in her en­try af­ter buy­ing Meadow Fresh milk. She also won her­self $500.

The Cool Stuff for Kids pro­mo­tion en­cour­aged shop­pers to send in re­ceipts af­ter pur­chas­ing marked Meadow Fresh prod­ucts.

Ms Bar­clay chose Hamp­ton Hill School be­cause her nephew is a stu­dent there.

The pro­mo­tion has in­volved more than $500,000 worth of equip­ment, in­clud­ing net­balls and rugby balls, paints, felt tips, gi­ant skip­ping ropes, glit­ter and craft pa­per, dis­trib­uted to schools through­out the coun­try.

It had proved so suc­cess­ful, Meadow Fresh de­cided to re­ward those par­tic­i­pat­ing with the two ex­tra cash give­aways.

Hamp­ton Hill School plans to put the $10,000 to­wards a new play­ground.
