Happy to be sheltered
Screen test: Nothing says thank you like cake – as members of Titahi Bay Lions Club found out last week when they visited appreciative staff and children at Titahi Bay Kindergarten. The club donated a new canvas and plastic wind break and mats valued at more than $600 after the kindy’s were stolen in August. Lions member Henry Smith said he noticed an item about the theft on Kapi-Mana News’ Facebook page and realised the club could help. Head teacher Karen Stevens says the kindy could not have afforded a new wind break itself, and the help from the Lions meant they could focus their fundraising on children’s learning. Additional security measures have been taken by the kindergarten.
