Invitation strikes the right note

Many people would love to be able to sing but their confidence has held them back from ever giving it a try.

David Dell, leader of the Take Note Singers for more than 10 years, said people often tell him they have great memories of singing from their childhood but they have been put off singing as an adult by the thought of having to sing on their own or at an audition.

‘‘When they discover that no-one has to audition or sing on their own at the Take Note Singers, they often say at the end of their first evening: ‘I wish I’d done this years ago’.’’

Mr Dell is offering an obligation-free session to anyone keen to try singing.

‘‘I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself, as I get to see the pleasure on people’s faces as they laugh and sing their way through the evening.’’

Porirua- based Take Note Singers starts again on February 12, from 7.30pm till 8.45pm in the Community Room at Pataka in Norrie St, Porirua. The Com- munity Room entrance is off the staff car park. Mr Dell is available on 528 8595 or the website:
