Porirua police arrested two 16-year-old males after they were disturbed by the occupant of a Linden property at about 6pm on Wednesday, February 20. The youths were chased by the occupant and another member of the public. Sgt Maurice Parker from Porirua Police says one was found soon after and the other was brought to the police station by his mother a few hours later. He says it appears the boys were knocking on doors before breaking in, and may have been responsible for several other burglaries in the Tawa and Linden area. They will appear in the Porirua Youth Court. Mr Parker says residents should secure their homes, and report suspicious activity immediately on 111.
