Gardens make mark

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION -

I am a recent newcomer to the district and I am writing to say how impressed I am by the amazing gardens I see in the city area, at Aotea Lagoon, Paremata, and in some of the suburbs. I do hope the gardeners involved read this letter and know their hard work is appreciated. How they have managed in the very hot days we’ve had in recent weeks says something for their work commitments. you’re a bit of a hoot aren’t you?

Your little rant about our mayor may have fooled some but it’s a jolly good thing the editor of this fine tabloid pointed something out – you want his job.

Well of course you are going to be disparaging aren’t you? I have never been enamoured with those who would try to curry favour by trash talking others. You need to try to wrench his job from him by proving yourself and not by trying to belittle Mr Leggett.

And really, using the fact that he pays a quarter of the usage for the mayoral car? He shouldn’t have to pay anything, he’s the mayor for Pete’s sake. I take it then, from your comments that if you do win the mayoralty (snigger, you won’t) you won’t be using the car or will be paying for the full use of it, yes?

Can we have a promise of that? It’s a moot point really because Nick Leggett will win. He has my vote, you don’t, and there are many of us out there who feel the same.

And one last thing, how come you failed to mention in your letter that you plan to run for a seat, any seat at the next election? It’s our policy to identify (likely) candidates among correspondents when an election is looming. Letter writers with political ambitions are encouraged to be forthright about it — Editor.
