-

Physical changes are being made towards the revitalisation of Porirua’s city centre. The rst stage of development is the creation of a streamside plaza in Lyttelton Ave. Ultimately the plaza will connect to the railway station, the harbour, the new entrance to North City Shopping Centre and back through to Cobham Court. It is being designed to attract food and beverage outlets to locate streamside and take advantage of the increased hustle and bustle the redevelopment will bring. The rst work to pave the way for this streamside plaza begins in Lyttelton Ave in April and May. Changes you will notice include screening around the pump station, removal of the carpark opposite the bus shelters, improved pedestrian access, better lighting, and water and power installation for mobile food outlets. Additional power points and access to water are being installed for the Porirua Saturday Market in April. This means a greater variety of operators can take advantage of the market opportunities. The power and water is also useful for events and activities in the city centre
