Tawa book fair

Tawa Ro­tary Club will hold its an­nual Book Fair for the Life Ed­u­ca­tion Trust and the club.

The venue will be Tawa Junc­tion, at the end of Sur­rey St and it will run over two week­ends – July 20 and 21 and July 27 and 28 – from 9am un­til 4pm on Satur­day and 10am un­til 3pm on Sun­day.

Tens of thou­sands of books, CDs, DVDs, au­dio and video cas­settes will be on sale.

Most chil­dren’s books will cost 50 cents or $1 and other books $1, $2 or $3.

Last year’s sale re­sulted in the pre­sen­ta­tion of a cheque for al­most $10,000 to the Life Ed­u­ca­tion Trust and an equal amount to the Tawa Ro­tary Char­i­ta­ble Trust, which was granted to sev­eral lo­cal char­i­ties, stu­dents re­quir­ing sup­port to take part in sports, ed­u­ca­tional and cul­tural ac­tiv­i­ties, schools and a kinder­garten.

About half the club’s to­tal char­ity funds comes from the an­nual book fair.
