Romanos set­tles into edi­tor’s role

Joseph Romanos is the new edi­tor of Kapi-Mana News.

He takes over from the long-serv­ing Matt Dal­las, who has headed north to be­come deputy edi­tor of the Manawatu Stan­dard.

Matt signed off his time as Kapi-Mana News edi­tor in spec­tac­u­lar fash­ion when the news­pa­per won the Canon award for Com­mu­nity News­pa­per of the Year.

Joseph is an ex­pe­ri­enced jour­nal­ist, hav­ing worked pre­vi­ously for The Evening Post, The Do­min­ion, The Lis­tener mag­a­zine, and in Aus­tralia and Eng­land.

He is also a pro­lific author, hav­ing writ­ten 45 books on a va­ri­ety of sub­jects, mainly sport. He cur­rently writes a weekly sports col­umn for Kapi-Mana News.

To take up his po­si­tion with Kapi-Mana News, he has re­lin­quished his role as The Do­min­ion Post metro chief re­porter. Be­sides his re­spon­si­bil­ity with Kapi-Mana News, Joseph will con­tinue to edit its sis­ter news­pa­per, The Welling­to­nian.

Kapi-Mana News also has a new re­porter. Kris Dando and An­drea O’Neil will con­tinue to pro­vide read­ers will high-qual­ity news sto­ries. The pa­per’s re­port­ing ranks have been strength­ened by the ad­di­tion of Talia Carlisle, for­merly of the Kapiti Ob­server.
