Three wise persons
On August, 17 three people will begin to consider the future of council representation in the Wellington region. They are the Local Government Commission.
The chairman is former farmer and Hauraki District mayor Basil Morrison.
Mr Morrison is a member of the New Zealand Conservation Authority and a member of the board of directors of Landcorp Farming, as well as several other boards.
Anne Carter was local government and community deputy secretary at the Department of Internal Affairs and, more recently, executive director of the Pike River Royal Commission.
Grant Kirby owns a consulting business working on local government-related projects. He previously worked for Auckland City Council. He served as the chairman of the Local Government Commission and as a commissioner acting in place of Rodney District Council.
Big job: Basil Morrison, chairman of the Local Government Commission.
