Tawa in­door crick­eters shine

Tawa crick­eters were prom­i­nent when Welling­ton dom­i­nated the in­door cricket national cham­pi­onships in Lower Hutt re­cently.

In the un­der-19 boys’ fi­nal, Welling­ton beat Can­ter­bury 90-52. The player of the fi­nal was Tawa Col­lege’s Daniel Rose, who also made the national un­der-20 squad.

In the un­der-18 girls’ fi­nal, Welling­ton thrashed Auck­land 136-38. Tawa play­ers who stood out were Melie Kerr ( Tawa In­ter­me­di­ate, player of the fi­nal), Jess Kerr (Tawa Col­lege) and Makay­lah Ma­son- Jones (Tawa Col­lege). All three made the national squad, along with six other Welling­ton play­ers.

The un­der-20 In­door Cricket World Cup will be held in Welling­ton next year.
