The Har­bour Quar­ter show­cases Porirua’s nat­u­ral land­scape and cel­e­brates the har­bour as its fo­cal point. Ini­tia­tives for this quar­ter are longer term and in­clude look­ing for in­vestor and de­vel­oper op­por­tu­ni­ties. The TV Take­Back pro­gramme started last week in Porirua to co­in­cide with the dig­i­tal switchover on 29 Septem­ber. The pro­gramme di­verts tele­vi­sions from the land ll in an ini­tia­tive be­tween the Govern­ment and a range of coun­cils, re­cy­clers and retailers. For a limited time, you can re­cy­cle your TV at a sub­sidised rate of $5. Mana Re­cov­ery Trust will have two per­ma­nent sites and one mo­bile site, to make it easy for the pub­lic to re­cy­cle their TVs. You can drop yours at Trash Palace, Spicer Land ll which is open 7 days a week, 8.30am-5pm, or take it to Oranga, 3 Hall Rd, near Kenepuru Hos­pi­tal from Mon­day to Fri­day, 7.30am-4pm.
