White Ribbon calls on motorcyclists for support
Porirua motorcyclists are being asked to show their support for the White Ribbon campaign later this month.
The White Ribbon anti-violence riders are seeking motorcyclists to lead the annual ride into Porirua and show their support for ending violence in their communities.
The aim of the White Ribbon campaign is to end men’s violence towards women. As part of the campaign, a White Ribbon motorcycle ride has been organised in the North Island for the past five years to highlight the antiviolence messages.
Anyone can join, providing their bike has a warrant of fitness, a minimum engine size of 250cc and they pledge to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence towards women. Local riders can join or escort the riders into and out of Porirua.
