White Rib­bon calls on mo­tor­cy­clists for sup­port

Porirua mo­tor­cy­clists are be­ing asked to show their sup­port for the White Rib­bon cam­paign later this month.

The White Rib­bon anti-vi­o­lence rid­ers are seek­ing mo­tor­cy­clists to lead the an­nual ride into Porirua and show their sup­port for end­ing vi­o­lence in their com­mu­ni­ties.

The aim of the White Rib­bon cam­paign is to end men’s vi­o­lence to­wards women. As part of the cam­paign, a White Rib­bon mo­tor­cy­cle ride has been or­gan­ised in the North Is­land for the past five years to high­light the an­tiv­i­o­lence mes­sages.

Any­one can join, pro­vid­ing their bike has a war­rant of fit­ness, a min­i­mum en­gine size of 250cc and they pledge to never com­mit, con­done or re­main silent about vi­o­lence to­wards women. Lo­cal rid­ers can join or es­cort the rid­ers into and out of Porirua.
