Sta­tion to get at­ten­tion

Kapi-Mana res­i­dents have been in­vited to paint Pare­mata train sta­tion’s walk­way on Wed­nes­day as part of New Zealand’s first Graf­fiti Free Week.

Dur­ing Graf­fiti Free Week, in­di­vid­u­als, busi­nesses, schools and groups are in­vited to help to re­move graf­fiti. The clean­ing of Pare­mata train sta­tion walk­way will take place on Novem­ber 6 at 6pm.

Porirua Ro­tary Club’s Jenny Cardno said the club was keen to be in­volved in Graf­fiti Free Week.

‘‘Ro­tar­i­ans come to­gether with other com­mu­nity groups, do­ing good things in our lo­cal com­mu­nity to make a dif­fer­ence to peo­ple’s lives,’’ she said.

Keep Porirua Beau­ti­ful Trust, Ro­tary, Re­sene and Con­ser­va­tion Vol­un­teers New Zealand are col­lab­o­rat­ing in the first na­tion­wide Graf­fiti Free Week, which runs un­til Novem­ber 11.
