Arts and design students to exhibit
Pataka Museum is to host an exhibition by Whitireia visual arts and design students this week.
Nearly 30 students will exhibit works in the exhibition.
Toast combines a range of work including photography, graphic design, animation design, jewellery, drawing, sculpture and painting.
The exhibition will be be open at Pataka’s Bottle Creek gallery from November 21 till December 15.
Whitireia visual arts student Moniek Schrijer is also presenting work in an exhibition in Wellington.
MV Subterranean Universe contains Schrijer’s contemporary jewellery on display at Toi Poneke Arts Centre until December 7.
Schrijer’s method focuses on experimentation and process, transforming materials and carefully selected remnants from contemporary culture into bold, unique and crafted works.
Several of her pieces combine jewellery with traditional print-making, using etched metal and carved wood.
The exhibition is the culmination of Schrijer’s 2013 artist-in-residence at Toi Poneke, supported by Whitireia.
MV Subterranean Universe is open at Toi Poneke Arts Centre, 61 Abel Smith St, Wellington, until December 7.
