Batting still Norths’ weak spot

Kapi-Mana News - - SPORT -

North City’s premier cricket team let themselves down with the bat again on Saturday, losing by seven wickets to Upper Hutt.

After a string of good results in November, North City have lost two in a row. Against Upper Hutt at Barton Oval, 110 was never going to be enough.

The top order got starts, but noone scored more than 22 and Norths were all out in the 26th over.

Upper Hutt took just 20.1 overs to reach the meagre total. Australian import Dane Hutchinson took 2-29 and Stu Veitch 1-23 during Upper Hutt’s chase.

Eastern Suburbs, Taita, Naenae and Hutt Districts will play in the one-day semifinals next month.

Not enough: Dane Hutchinson took two wickets, but couldn’t help North City to victory.
