Nine-piece Wellington band Brock­aflow­er­saurus-Rex have re­leased their de­but al­bum, Build It.

The hip-hop and neo-soul band fea­tures vo­cal­ists Louis Baker, Estere Dal­ton and Zoe Moon Ma­hal.

The band also in­cludes Ash­ton Sel­lars, Thomas Friggens, Pat Stewart, Lorenzo Pradel, Blair Clarke and Gareth Thomp­sonDar­ling.

Build It was recorded at The Blue­barn stu­dios in Wellington. It in­cludes the songs Get Up and Rhinocer­ous Boo­gie. The al­bum’s in­spi­ra­tion came from a wide range of themes, Dal­ton said.

‘‘Mu­si­cal in­spi­ra­tion from pre­his­toric di­nosaurs and unique veg­eta­bles is some­thing that def­i­nitely re­sounds through out the al­bum,’’ she said.

The band, also known

as Brock­aflow­er­saurus- Rex & The Blue­berry Bis­cuits, formed in 2009.

The band’s Build It al­bum is avail­able on Band­camp and iTunes.
