Can­nons Creek man guilty of sex­ual of­fend­ing

Can­nons Creek res­i­dent Larne Andrew Davies was con­victed in Porirua District Court last week af­ter sex­u­ally touch­ing two girls un­der the age of 8 and send­ing porno­graphic im­ages of chil­dren to an un­der­cover po­lice of­fi­cer.

The 42-year-old fa­therof-three was red-faced and silent when he ap­peared be­fore Judge John Walker.

He pleaded guilty to 12 charges of indecent as­sault, sex­ual vi­o­la­tion and pos­ses­sion of ob­jec­tion­able ma­te­rial.

Po­lice said Davies iden­ti­fied the two girls as vul­ner­a­ble and said he knew they were about 6 or 7 years old.

The of­fend­ing be­gan in 2012 and con­tin­ued un­til this March.

Davies’ ac­tiv­i­ties were brought to a halt when he was caught send­ing ob­jec­tion­able ma­te­rial on the in­ter­net to an un­der­cover po­lice of­fi­cer.

Davies was re­manded in cus­tody un­til July 4, when he will ap­pear in Welling­ton District Court.
