Rope ladders for sh and new tracks for walkers are among the new improvements in Bothamley Park. The park dubbed Porirua’s “Green Heart” runs from Champion St in Ranui to Warspite Ave in Waitangirua and is undergoing an extensive seven-year, $800,000 upgrade. The latest improvements have included: Fish passage baf es have been placed in culverts under the park’s concrete bridges. The rubber baf es give sh resting spots when swimming up against the fast owing water. Fish rope has been placed through the culverts and up the sh ladder at the bottom end of Cannons Creek Park to help climbing sh navigate upstream. About 14 native sh are found in Kenepuru Stream.
