Harbour needs to be cherished

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION -

It was heartening to read the letters from the pupils of Paremata School (May 13).

Their concern for the health of the harbour revealed they had been following the reported high tonnage of plastic rubbish and discarded car tyres that polluted the harbour.

They expressed their dismay and urged a positive response to preserve our lovely harbour environment.

The attitudes of those who feel free to toss their rubbish into our harbour brings shame on us all and demands a determined effort to tackle the problem.

To fail in that would be disastrous.
