Sevens places must be earned
Gordon Tietjens has said that to be good at sevens you have got to be playing and training in the team regularly.
All Blacks and Super Rugby players who wish to go for glory and gold at the 2016 Olympics should be in the team now doing the hard yards and earning their places.
It is fairly obvious the sevens team doesn’t need any extras. The winning record speaks well for the current players.
There is no place for the ‘‘Johnny come latelys’’ expecting a place in the team at the expense of a regular player.
