Latu Talu said it was all about giving a good show.

The Porirua boxer – and manager of Billy Graham’s soon-to-beopened boxing academy in Cannons Creek – was a unani- mous points decision winner over Richard Hadlow (Queenstown) in the 69 kilogram category at Heretaunga on May 10.

The bout was part of the Upper Hutt boxing club’s annual fight night.

Talu said the crowd was rowdy and he had good support.

‘‘It was a good fight, but I could feel [ Hadlow] getting tired towards the end. I gave it all I had and was very happy with the result.

‘‘You want to give a good show to the fans so they don’t get bored, and I think I did that.’’

It was Talu’s second bout this year. The nationally-ranked welterweight has a tournament in Palmerston North next month.

He hoped to start moving gear into the boxing academy soon, for an opening in July.
