Kapi-Mana News - - NEWS -

Jim Higgins, who had led the Tawa Community Police Volunteers as base controller for 21 years, is standing down.

He has said he would, however, continue to do some occasional volunteering at the base.

Higgins worked under many community constables, sergeants and area commanders and is an instantly recognisable figure in Tawa.

Many of the shop owners known him personally.

He won a Tawa Community Civic Award in 2012.
