Titahi Bay School seeks Porirua icon

Kapi-Mana News - - NEWS -

Room 11 at Titahi Bay School has been doing a project focusing on New Zealand icons.

The 30 year 5 and 6 pupils have been trying to convince various groups that Porirua needs an icon or structure to welcome people to our city.

The publicly-minded pupils have written to Porirua City Council, mayor Nick Leggett, Whittakers factory and school parents via the school newsletter.

They are also conducting a survey to gain support.

Here is a selection of the letters the children sent to Kapi-Mana News.

Anyone wanting to offer support or to reply to the letters can email teacher Nicky Severinsen: nicky.severinsen @titahibay.school.nz.
