A Newlands man who secretly filmed a woman undressing, and up a coworker’s skirt, told police he was just being silly.

Christopher Shane Goodale, 37, pleaded guilty at Porirua District Court last week to two charges of making an intimate visual recording and one of possessing an intimate visual recording.

Police prosecutor Lisa Thomson said the first victim in the case was a friend of Goodale’s.

In 2008, after a night in town, the friend stayed at his house. Thomson said that in the morning the woman was instructed to dress in the master bedroom, where a camera was secretly set up.

She said the second victim worked with Goodale in Porirua. During 2011 and 2012, Goodale would place a webcam on the floor next to his desk, call the victim over and have her stand over the camera.

He has apologised for both situations.

Judge Tony Walsh convicted Goodale and remanded him until August 8.
