Wests too strong for Wairarapa
Western Suburbs have continued their good run of form in football’s Central League with a 3-0 win over Wairarapa United on Saturday.
A goal in the second minute to Tinashe Marowa set the tone for Wests as they controlled the tempo throughout the match at Maidstone Park in Upper Hutt.
A penalty to Sean Morris and second half strike from Elliot Collier completed the win, which sees Wests sit comfortably in fourth spot in the table.
Meanwhile, Napier City Rovers repeated their Chatham Cup win over Tawa at Redwood Park, this time cruising to a 5-1 victory. Rovers were too strong in the middle of the park and clinical when it came to finishing.
The 5-1 loss sees Tawa ninth in the table, just two points ahead of last-placed Upper Hutt.
