Beautiful schools

The Keep Porirua Beautiful Trust is seeking the city’s most beautiful school this September.

Trust chairman Hayden Nash said the month-long challenge is a chance for schools and pupils to put their best foot forward and get a positive message across.

‘‘Finding Porirua’s most beautiful school aims to build awareness of the impact of littering and graffiti on our environment. We want to engage students in a fun way and inspire them to ‘Be a Tidy Kiwi’.

‘‘Participants can also benefit from their efforts as we will have some great prizes to be won for their school and individual students who go the extra mile.’’

Three categories have been determined: those with roll numbers above 250 pupils, below 250 pupils, and colleges.

The competition will last from September 1 to 26 and schools should contact Keep Porirua Beautiful Trust at kpbpeo
